Our Pastor
Welcome
to Good News Lutheran Brethren Church. My name is Mark Johannesen
and I am the new pastor. My wife, Wendy and I and our daughter Ella
moved to Mc Alisterville in early May and on June 1st I began
serving at the church. We are excited to be here and are enjoying
our new church family and meeting many within the community.
We spent almost 2 ½ years north of Seattle where I served as the
Associate Pastor of Youth and Family Ministries at Word of Life
Lutheran Brethren Church. Before that calling I served as the youth
pastor at Community of Joy Lutheran Brethren Church in Eagan,
Minnesota. In 1998, I graduated from Northwestern College in St.
Paul, Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in youth ministries. In
2003, I graduated from Bethel Seminary with a master’s degree
concentrating in missions. One year later I graduated with a Masters
of Divinity from the Lutheran Brethren Seminary in Fergus Falls
Minnesota.
We are excited to be at Good News! Our Sunday morning worship is a
casual atmosphere, filled with a few hymns, praise and worship
choruses as well as hearing from God’s Word. I think you will find
our worship services comfortable, simple and inviting. We also offer
Sunday School for children and adults and on Wednesday nights we
have a program for children, a youth group and an adult bible study.
